Job Summary
Lead Solutions Architect to translate complex business challenges into AI-powered architecture for Visa’s global payment ecosystem. Own discovery, architectural strategy, model integration, and governance across fraud intelligence, data products, and real-time commerce platforms. Drive experimentation with AI/ML technologies, guide POCs and pilots to scaled deployments, ensure security, privacy, and observability, mentor teams, and align cross-functional partners on architecture, capabilities, and success metrics.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a related field OR equivalent experience
- 12+ years of work experience in solutions architecture, platform engineering, technical product leadership, or systems design roles
- 10+ years with Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters/MBA/JD/MD) OR 8+ years with PhD (Preferred Qualifications)
- 6+ years of hands-on experience designing and deploying AI/ML-powered systems (preferred)
- Experience shipping distributed, cloud-native systems at global scale with high throughput and low latency
- Demonstrated expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Kubernetes-based deployments
- Experience with responsible AI, governance, data quality, model validation, explainability, monitoring
- Strong cross-functional leadership and ability to influence senior leaders without direct authority
- Experience in regulated or high-trust domains (payments/fintech preferred)
- Mentoring senior engineers/architects/data scientists
- Knowledge of ML operations, CI/CD for models, model versioning, automated testing
- Security, multi-region, highly available architectures
- Real-time data processing and streaming architectures
- Model serving, inference pipelines, feature stores
- LLM-enabled applications, prompting/orchestration, retrieval-augmented generation
- Strong understanding of modern ML stacks and real-time systems
- Experience with risk scoring, fraud detection, personalization or decisioning systems
- Proven track record of leading architecture initiatives across Product, Engineering, Data Science, UX, DevOps and Agile teams
