Job Summary
Conduct targeted engagements with development teams to establish safe, rapid release cadences and resolve vulnerabilities. Wrap applications in comprehensive test suites, including local smoke tests, while sourcing and masking test data for lower environments. Manage dependency lifecycles by upgrading runtimes, libraries, and base images using Renovate, and enforce best practices for source control, code reviews, and security patterns. Automate deployment processes via Liquibase and Ansible, and implement standard observability, exception handling, and resilient cross-datacenter topologies. This practical DevOps and SRE role is roughly 70% coding and configuration, requiring proficiency in JVM languages, TypeScript, Docker, and Linux.
Required Qualifications
- Several years of experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) using multiple test frameworks.
- Really excellent understanding of the different approaches to automation testing and an ability to choose the best approach and drive outcomes with AI support
- Proficiency in JVM languages and/or TypeScript.
- Highest quality coding skills
- An excellent understanding of safe practices for critical systems, including deployment architecture and observability
- At home with multiple continuous integration and deployment systems
- Excellent understanding of secure coding practices
- Competent with Docker and Openshift
- Actively embracing AI coding
- Comfortable with build automation tools such as Gradle, Maven, and npm.
- Competent with (RedHat ) Linux
Desired Qualifications
- Spring framework skills are advantageous.
- Ansible skills are advantageous
