Job Summary
Lead Software Engineer to modernize and scale a warehouse management platform (WMS) for a high-growth eCommerce/3PL company in San Diego. You will own backend modernization efforts, migrating legacy workflows to a Node.js API and PostgreSQL data platform, and rebuild high-volume operational flows (returns, shipping visibility) to improve warehouse throughput and customer satisfaction. This hands-on role involves developing robust APIs, designing workflow logic, and delivering systems that enhance throughput, visibility, and operational reliability, directly impacting how products move through the warehouse and how internal teams manage operations. You will work on initiatives such as Backend Modernization & Service Migration, Data Model & Persistence Upgrades, Operational Workflow Rebuilds, and End-to-End Visibility Enhancements, leveraging event-driven architectures and integration-heavy environments.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years building backend systems in production environments
- Strong Node.js / TypeScript experience in API-driven architectures
- Experience working with large datasets and modern data applications (BigQuery, Snowflake)
- Deep PostgreSQL experience (schema design, migrations, query optimization)
- Experience migrating legacy systems to modern stacks
- Familiarity with event-driven systems, webhooks, or integration-heavy environments
- Experience designing systems that support operational workflows, warehouse management logistics, fulfillment, ERP applications and related business processes solutions
- Location: Must currently or plan to reside in San Diego, CA (Full-time, 5 Days Onsite with flexibility on hours/as needed)
