Job Summary
Lead Software Engineer to design and implement GenAI-powered, autonomous engineering agents operating across identity, access management, and security platforms. Role emphasizes Python-based services, orchestration of LLMs and tools, and building auditable, production-ready agent systems. You’ll architect cloud-native backends on AWS or other clouds, develop RAG pipelines and context-management layers, integrate with IAM systems (OAuth2/OIDC, SSO, RBAC), and ensure strong guardrails, observability, and incident-response practices. You will mentor engineers, collaborate with IAM/security teams, and help shape the technical roadmap for AI-enabled engineering at Visa. The position is hybrid with in-office days to be confirmed by the Hiring Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in a related field; 10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or 7+ years with an Advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 4 years with a PhD, OR 13+ years of relevant work experience
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering
- At least 3 years building cloud-native backend systems (microservices, event-driven architectures) in production
- Strong proficiency in Python for backend services and automation
- Hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications deployed to production
- Experience with at least one agentic/LLM orchestration framework and vector search / retrieval
- Solid understanding of IAM/security concepts (OAuth2/OIDC, SSO, RBAC, tokens, access reviews)
- Experience with distributed systems and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure), containers (Docker), and Kubernetes
- Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives end-to-end
- Hybrid work arrangement with a defined in-office expectation
