Job Summary
Own end-to-end architecture and full-stack delivery of the CMMS platform, including geospatial, work-management, and agentic-AI layers. Establish CI/CD pipelines, provision cloud resources on AWS or GCP, and manage zero-downtime deployments while optimizing compute and AI-inference costs. Lead production support and on-call rotations, enforce security standards for authentication and encryption, and integrate systems with Esri ArcGIS, JD Edwards, and SharePoint. Recruit, mentor mid-level engineers, and drive technical leadership for a small AI-native team. Work remotely with approximately 30% travel to project sites, field locations, and client offices.
Required Qualifications
- Technical background in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
- Eight or more years of professional software engineering experience
- Technical leadership or end-to-end ownership of a production system
- Deep expertise in cloud-native backend and data engineering
- Strong API design and distributed-systems fundamentals
- Demonstrated ability to design and operate secure, reliable systems
- Authentication/authorization, encryption, auditability, high availability, and disaster recovery
- Proven, fluent use of AI coding agents to accelerate real production work
- Sound judgment in reviewing, directing, and verifying AI-generated output
- Experience owning CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and production operations/on-call
- Real experience using AI coding tools to ship faster
- Versatile generalist able to move across backend, data, integrations, and enough front-end
- Prioritizing reliability and security over interface polish
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud
- Experience with LLM/agent platforms (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, etc.)
- Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language
- Maintain company standards for background checks (criminal record, driving record, and controlled substance/drug testing)
- Ability to perform prolonged periods of focused work at a computer workstation
- Ability to communicate effectively by phone, video conference, and in writing
- Ability to travel (approximately 30%) to project sites, field locations, and company or client offices
- Ability to work outdoors and walk local field terrain in day/night and local climate conditions
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment and work safely in and around vehicle traffic zones
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds periodically
- Adherence to test driven development
- Effective, responsible use of AI coding tools as a core part of the team's daily workflow
- Manage the annual Career Evaluations for direct reports
- Participate in Monthly Financial Review discussions with senior management
- Coordinate training and development of engineering staff
- Participate in required training
- Be a dependable and reliable member of the team
