Job Summary
Lead Software Engineer - Quant Developer Python at JPMorganChase within Asset and Wealth Management. You will be a core technical contributor delivering secure high-quality production code, solving complex architectural problems, leading evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams, and driving adoption of new technologies. Responsibilities include designing and debugging software, automating recurring remediation to improve stability, leading communities of practice for software engineering, and contributing to an inclusive team culture. Required capabilities include formal training or certification in software engineering and at least 5+ years of applicable experience, expert Python/Django skills, automation and CD proficiency, broad SDLC mastery, agile methods, and strong knowledge of financial services IT systems. Preferred CFA charter holder; cloud-native experience and advanced understanding of enterprise-scale financial applications are also valued.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts
- 5+ years applied experience in software engineering
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, development, testing, and operational stability for enterprise-scale systems
- Advanced in Python and Django; proficient in other Python tools
- Proficiency in automation and CD methods
- Proficient in SDLC; knowledge of CI/CD, security, and resiliency
