Job Summary
Lead software engineering role in JPMorganChase within Markets - Prime Finance Services focused on delivering secure, scalable, production-grade software. Responsibilities include leading and mentoring junior engineers, conducting design, development, debugging, and cross-functional collaboration to align technology initiatives with business goals. Required expertise includes Java development, SDLC mastery, CI/CD, cloud technologies (AWS/on-prem), microservices, databases (Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB), automation, security, and operational stability. Proficiency in modern front-end tech (React JS, JavaScript, TypeScript) and messaging systems (Kafka, IBM MQ) is preferred. Strong leadership and ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 6+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Advanced working experience in Java
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages like Oracle, MySQL or NoSQL databases like MongoDB
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with diverse teams and stakeholders
- Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing project requirements
- Practical cloud native experience
- Preferred qualifications include familiarity with React JS, JavaScript, TypeScript, microservices, AWS or on-prem cloud, Kafka, IBM MQ
