Lead Software Engineer, Managed Kubernetes Platform

Job Summary
Architect, deploy, and manage Istio mesh infrastructure and Kubernetes environments to form the backbone of the microservice architecture. Collaborate with development teams to design service discovery, load-balancing, traffic management, and observability solutions within the service mesh. Implement workload deployment and scheduling on AWS EKS while responding promptly to service interruptions for capacity planning and performance tuning. Monitor service operations to detect and troubleshoot potential issues, contributing to continuous DevOps improvements. This onsite role in Petaling Jaya supports the Managed EKS team's migration of legacy workloads to the next-gen compute platform.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in managing microservices architecture
- Familiar with network protocols like HTTP, TCP/IP, and gRPC
- Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools, infrastructure as code etc
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Go, Java, or Python
- Familiarity with service mesh technologies like istio, linkerd, consul etc
- Familiarity with k8s management like AWS EKS, GKE
- Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and orchestration tools
- Familiarity with cloud-native stack and cloud-based environments (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
- This role is onsite based in our Petaling Jaya, Malaysia office
