Job Summary
Lead Software Engineer overseeing the implementation and management of large-scale mainframe systems within the financial services industry. Leverages Cobol, CICS, DB2, VSAM, MQ messaging, stored procedures, DB2 utilities, JCL, ChangeMan, NDM, and file transfer mechanisms to maintain and enhance applications, while integrating distributed technologies and AI tools to improve functionality and efficiency. Provides leadership, guidance, and support to global teams, collaborates with cross-functional groups, ensures compliance with industry standards, and focuses on system optimization, data integrity, and security. Communicates project progress, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders and drives high performance, reliability, and scalability of mainframe environments.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts
- 5+ years applied experience
- Experience in the financial services industry
- Experience in managing large-scale mainframe implementations and systems
- Extensive hands on experience in mainframe technologies and tools (Cobol, CICS, DB2, VSAM, MQ messaging, Stored procedures, DB2 Utilities, JCL, ChangeMan, NDM, file transfer mechanisms)
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing global teams
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
