Job Summary
Lead Software Engineer focusing on System Management for the TFDM program supporting FAA NextGen surface management. Candidate will drive integration and modernization of air traffic management systems to improve NAS operations, with emphasis on Ansible-based automation, Python scripting, Linux administration, containerization, and multi-site infrastructure delivery. The role requires collaboration across teams to ensure mission-critical deployments, experience with IaC, CI/CD, and complex system configurations, and travel to deploy TFDM across multiple airports. 3 days/week in Gaithersburg, MD office with 2 days remote.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
- 4+ years of proven experience in Software Engineering
- Core Technologies: Ansible, Python, Bash/Shell scripting, Linux administration, Container technology (Podman/Docker)
- Infrastructure & DevOps: IaC, CI/CD, release management, Git workflows
- Systems Knowledge: Network configuration, VM lifecycle management, multi-environment deployment, RPM/pip/Ansible Galaxy
