Job Summary
Lead Software Engineer role within JPMorganChase's Exchange Traded Funds team (Asset and Wealth Management). Core responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, and debugging secure, production-grade software; driving remediation automation for stability; leading architecture-design evaluations with vendors and internal teams; fostering communities of practice and inclusive engineering culture; and delivering scalable, secure solutions across cloud-native environments. Candidates should demonstrate leadership in software design and delivery, hands-on Java/SpringBoot/AWS/SQL proficiency, experience with SDLC and CI/CD, agile practices, operational stability, and a strong understanding of financial services IT systems.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts
- 5+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Advanced in one or more programming languages, specifically Java-based technologies including Java, SpringBoot, AWS, and SQL
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
- Practical cloud native experience
