Job Summary
Lead Software Engineer – Java/Spring at JPMorganChase within the Commercial & Investment Bank. You will be an integral technical contributor responsible for executing creative software solutions, developing secure high-quality production code, reviewing and debugging others’ code, and leading architectural evaluations with external vendors and internal teams. You’ll drive communities of practice to promote new technologies, contribute to a culture of diversity and inclusion, and ensure operational stability across applications and systems. The role emphasizes hands-on development with Java/Spring Boot, Kafka-based event-driven architectures, RESTful services, Oracle databases, Git-based workflows, and CI/CD pipelines, in a large corporate environment adopting modern SDLC practices and security considerations.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on Software Engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Proficient in coding in Java, Spring Boot, JPA, SQL, REST
- Experience with event driven architecture using Kafka
- Experience building RESTful backend applications (Spring Boot) and solid relational enterprise databases (Oracle) experience
- Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD e.g. Jenkins
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing and operational stability
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Solid understanding of cross cutting concerns such as Application Resiliency, and Security
- Knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
