Job Summary
Execute creative software solutions, design, and technical troubleshooting to build secure, high-quality production code while reviewing and debugging work from others. Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes, establishing consistent validation standards and promoting reusable patterns. Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to probe architectural designs and drive outcomes-oriented adoption within existing systems. Apply knowledge of the full Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including automation and continuous delivery methods, to enhance operational stability and eliminate recurring issues.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts
- 5+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Advanced in one or more programming language(s), including Java
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining microservices with Spring Boot, including REST APIs with JSON, dependency injection, configuration management, and actuator-based monitoring
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Previous experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, Postgres, and MySQL
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., for coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption within delivery practices
Desired Qualifications
- Experience using modern cloud technologies such as AWS and frameworks such as S3, Lambdas, etc.
- Experience building and supporting centralized and de-centralized architectures such as data lakes and data meshes
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
