Job Summary
Lead Software Engineer role within JPMorganChase's Asset and Wealth Management Investment Technology group. Core responsibilities include delivering secure, scalable, production-grade software solutions; leading architecture discussions and vendor evaluations; mentoring teams and driving modern software engineering practices (Java/React/AWS, cloud-native design, CI/CD, TDD, microservices). The position emphasizes leadership, peer collaboration, and advancing technology across multiple business functions, with a focus on operational stability, security, and reliability across agile teams.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Hands-on experience in software engineering, including designing and developing event-driven software solutions using cloud technologies and full stack frameworks
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Advanced in one or more programming language(s), with expertise in Java and React.js
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
- Practical cloud native experience
- Strong advocate of test-driven development (TDD) and modern software engineering practices
- Experience designing and implementing event-driven architectures
- Familiarity with modern cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices architectures
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across diverse teams
