Job Summary
Lead Software Engineer role at Parametric (Morgan Stanley) focusing on technical leadership and end-to-end software delivery. You will provide architectural guidance, manage projects, mentor developers, and design/develop API services and micro-services to support the Equity Direct Indexing portfolio management platform. Responsibilities include delivering scalable, cloud-native solutions on AWS, implementing robust unit/integration/performance tests, conducting code reviews, and collaborating across Technology teams and business partners to improve processes and performance in a highly regulated financial environment. The role emphasizes architecture, performance, resilience, and the ability to translate business needs into reliable software solutions. Expected to lead developers and projects, drive quality, and contribute to the evolution of the platform while maintaining strong ethical standards and cross-functional collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related area
- 8+ years of hands-on development experience
- 7+ years of hands-on Java/J2EE software design and development
- Experience supervising and leading software development teams
- Strong API development experience with GraphQL/REST
- Cloud native development experience (AWS preferred)
- Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Experience with NoSQL databases (Redis, Cassandra, MongoDB)
- Proven leadership and project-management capabilities
- Ability to mentor and coach engineers
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Familiarity with AI-related technologies and applying them in business/technical contexts
