Job Summary
Execute software solutions through design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within the firm's state-of-the-art technology products. Write secure, high-quality code using Java, Scala, or Python with limited guidance while leveraging enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools to improve delivery speed and productivity. Design and troubleshoot systems with consideration of upstream and downstream implications, applying Software Development Life Cycle tools to enhance automation value. Gathers and analyzes large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making for secure, stable application development.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts
- 5+ years applied experience
- Professional software engineering experience building production data or streaming systems
- Proficiency in one or more languages; Java, Scala, or Python for backend and data processing
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Experience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle
- Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, testing, troubleshooting, or documentation) with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations
- Review of criminal conviction history, including pretrial diversions or program entries
Desired Qualifications
- Experience building or operating a feature store (open‐source like Feast or internal/custom), including feature registries and governance
- Tuning and operating Flink in production (parallelism, backpressure diagnostics, checkpoint tuning) and Spark performance optimization (partitioning, join strategies, file layout)
