Job Summary
Lead Software Engineer on Nike’s Cloud Platform Engineering team within Global Technology, responsible for designing, developing, operating, and integrating Nike’s multi-cloud infrastructure solutions. You’ll serve as a technical leader across cloud engineering platforms, mentor and guide cloud engineers, drive engineering best practices, and translate business problems into scalable cloud solutions. Core work includes building platform solutions to govern Nike’s multi-cloud ecosystem, partnering with Architects, Directors, Product Managers, and other engineers to deliver enterprise cloud capabilities, and delivering hands-on implementation with Kubernetes-based infrastructure, CRDs, auto-scaling using Karpenter, and integration of observability tooling (Splunk, Cortex, Thanos). Required hands-on programming in Python, Go, Java, and JavaScript; experience with REST, microservices, DevOps, and domain-driven design; exposure to AI/ML/GenAI data solutions and cross-functional collaboration in an agile product environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or similar field or relevant professional experience
- Minimum 7-12 years of experience in software engineering
- Extensive hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Experience with Kubernetes, CRDs, auto scaling (Karpenter or similar)
- Crossplane experience a plus
- Observability tools experience (Splunk, Cortex, Thanos)
- Strong programming skills (Python, Go, Java, JavaScript)
- Experience with REST, microservices, DevOps, DDD
- Experience leading agile teams in a product model
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills
- Experience with AI/ML/GenAI data solutions preferred
