Job Summary
Set the technical and architectural direction for the tribe's backend services and integrations, maintaining a pragmatic dialogue on technology fit and sharing reusable solutions across squads. Review technical designs, contribute to complex decisions, and get into the code when it matters while exploring how AI-assisted development can change design, build, and operate practices. Keep the tribe's engineering practices strong and coherent through ongoing technical discussions within the wider engineering organization.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years in software development
- several years as a technical lead for a team
- track record of building and running complex, cloud-native systems in AWS
- Solution architecture and systems/integration design skills
- strong analytical thinking and planning
- good grasp of automated testing and building solutions that are testable by design
- Experience with secure software development and architecture
- Comfort leading without formal authority
- A product mindset
- Strong collaboration and proactivity
- Genuine interest in modern, AI-assisted development
- Strong written and spoken English
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience)
- Working at Finnair

Desired Qualifications
- Nice to have Strong observability practices in production (structured logging, metrics, error tracking, performance monitoring — e.g. Datadog)
- Experience coaching or leading engineering teams
- Experience in an airline or another regulated, high-security domain
