Job Summary
Manage and mentor a team of software engineers through weekly one-on-ones, deliberate delegation, and growth feedback. Own your team's delivery by breaking down work, coordinating across teams, and shipping against ambitious timelines. Hold the team to a high quality bar by conducting thorough code reviews and making merge and deployment decisions. Drive design and architecture for Fundrise services, partner with Product, Design, and other Engineering stakeholders to implement complex functionality, and champion application security in a regulated financial services environment. Own production monitoring and triage across services and third-party integrations. This people-management role requires setting technical direction, coaching engineers, and making sound architectural calls to turn product, operational, and compliance requirements into software.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
- deep expertise in Java
- deep expertise in Spring / Spring Boot
- deep expertise in Hibernate
- 3+ years leading and managing engineers

- A track record of improving existing systems
