Job Summary
Build applications ensuring code follows latest practices and industry standards, using modern design patterns and architectural principles. Remove technical impediments and develop high-quality, well-documented code adhering to Prudential standards. Collaborate with product owners, tech leads, and designers to define feature stories and deliver robust solutions that bring business impact. Write unit, integration, and functional automation tests, researching problems discovered by quality assurance or product support to develop effective solutions. Bring a strong understanding of emerging technologies to coach team members and embed learning and innovation in the day-to-day work. Work on complex problems requiring analysis of intangible variables using Java, JavaScript, React, or Springboot frameworks. This role is based in Newark, NJ, with a hybrid schedule requiring at least three days of on-site presence per week.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Computer Science or Engineering or experience in related fields
- Ability to coach others with minimal guidance
- Experience with agile development methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
- Knowledge of business concepts tools and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business
- Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an on-going basis through self-initiative and tackling challenges
- Excellent problem solving, communication and collaboration skills
- Advanced experience and/or expertise with several of the following: Programming Languages: Python, Java or Java Script
- Advanced experience and/or expertise with several of the following: working in distributed systems, object oriented programming, design patterns and design methodology
- Advanced experience and/or expertise with several of the following: JAVA services using Spring CLI, Maven, Microservice, multi-threading, Concurrency and parallel processing
- Advanced experience and/or expertise with several of the following: Frameworks: React, Springboot, Node.js, such as Full / MEAN / MERN stack
- Advanced experience and/or expertise with several of the following: Data Store: NoSQL or Relational Data structures; MongoDB
- Advanced experience and/or expertise with several of the following: BPM tools
- Advanced experience and/or expertise with several of the following: Data Streaming: SQS, Kinesis
- Advanced experience and/or expertise with several of the following: Application Programming Interfaces (API): Consumption & Development; Web service technologies such as APIs, REST, JSON, SOAP, XML, JDBC, MySQL
- Advanced experience and/or expertise with several of the following: Unit, interface and end user testing concepts and tooling (functional & non-functional)
- Advanced experience and/or expertise with several of the following: Dev Ops Tools & Practices: Branching techniques and usage of GitHub, Bitbucket or Subversion; DevOps, Jenkins
- Advanced experience and/or expertise with several of the following: Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): Monitoring and logging techniques
- Advanced experience and/or expertise with several of the following: AWS Core Services: AWS Services such as CloudWatch, Code-Deploy, ECS, S3, Lambda
- This position is hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring weekly basis at least 3 days per week
