Job Summary
Lead Software Engineer (Full stack Java/React) at JPMorgan Chase within Consumer and Community Banking - Operations Technology Servicing. You will serve as a core technical contributor responsible for executing creative software solutions, developing secure high-quality production code, and leading architectural evaluations with internal teams and external vendors. You will drive automation to improve operational stability, lead communities of practice to promote new technologies, and mentor other developers while delivering scalable, secure, and reliable software across multiple business functions. Proficiency in Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, React, AWS, Cloud Foundry, REST/HTTP, microservices, Kafka, IBM MQ, Cassandra, GIT/Bitbucket, Jenkins, Maven, and DevOps practices is required. Strong leadership, ownership, and collaboration skills with experience in domain-driven design and automated testing are expected, along with the ability to contribute across architecture, development, deployment, and QA collaboration in an agile environment.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5+ years hands-on experience
- 6+ years of hands-on experience with Java, J2EE and related technologies, and technical proficiency in Java 8 (or newer), Spring/Spring Boot & UI Frontend - React
- Hands on experience developing and deploying applications to cloud platforms namely AWS & Cloud Foundry
- Hands on experience with web technologies (e.g. HTTP, XML, REST, HTML, etc.) and building applications with microservice architecture or API concepts
- Experience with distributed streaming platform (Kafka) and knowledge of IBM MQ message broker
- Experience with NoSQL databases (Cassandra) and experience with web-based version control tools (GIT, Bitbucket)
- Expertise in application, data and infrastructure architecture discipline and understanding of J2EE design patterns
- Experience in DevOps - build, deployment, integration, code management and similar tools like Jenkins, Maven, automated deployment etc.
- Experience in developing software using domain-driven design (DDD) approach
- Ability to negotiate, communicate and deliver effective Automated Test solutions to both Development and QA teams
- Proven leadership experience and qualities including sense of ownership, strong communication skills, creativity, initiative, attention to detail, mentoring/coaching/leading other developers
