Job Summary
Lead Software Engineer role within JPMorganChase's Commercial & Investment Bank - Digital Channels team. You will be a core technical contributor responsible for developing cloud-native, microservices-based solutions using Java, Spring Boot, AWS ECS, and Kubernetes, and delivering responsive, accessible front-end interfaces with React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3. Responsibilities include analyzing requirements, implementing event-driven real-time data processing with Apache Kafka, working with PostgreSQL databases, ensuring secure and scalable software development, building reusable UI components with state management (Redux, Context API), and supporting testing across unit, integration, and UAT. Emphasis on SDLC adherence, CI/CD deployments (Spinnaker, Jenkins, GitLab), and observability with Splunk; experience in financial services and regulated environments is preferred. Lead-level expectations include strong collaboration, effective communication, and documentation to share knowledge across cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- Formal degree in computer science / software engineering and 5+ years applied experience
- Hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and cloud-native deployments (AWS ECS, Kubernetes)
- Proficiency in front-end development with React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and state management libraries
- Experience delivering large-scale, mission-critical systems
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and tools (Spinnaker, Jenkins, GitLab)
- Experience with monitoring/logging tools (Splunk) and relational databases (PostgreSQL)
- Knowledge of secure coding, compliance, and operational best practices in financial services
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Experience supporting testing and participating in SDLC processes
- Strong documentation and knowledge sharing skills
