Job Summary
Lead Software Engineer role within JPMorganChase's Commercial & Investment Bank - Payments team. Core responsibilities include executing creative software solutions, developing secure production code, reviewing and debugging code, and solving complex architectural problems. The role involves leading evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams, driving adoption of new technologies through communities of practice, and fostering an inclusive team culture. Required skills include Java/JavaScript/React, AWS (ECS, S3, RDS, Lambda, Terraform), Docker/Kubernetes, REST APIs, SQL/Hibernate, and ability to translate wireframes (Figma) into maintainable code. Preferred: experience applying Large Language Models to real-world products and financial services/payments domain experience.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Advanced hands on experience with JavaScript, ReactJS, or similar scripting language
- Hands-on programming/application development experience Java, Spring Boot, REST/API
- Proficiency in SQL/Hibernate, Messaging (Kafka)
- Ability to convert wireframes and Figma designs into code
- Hands on knowledge of AWS offerings (ECS, S3, RDS, Lambda, Terraform)
- Good knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in large teams
