Lead Software Engineer - Full Stack (Java, Micro-services, React/Angular)

Job Summary
Act as a technical lead to deliver end-to-end product development for Ethoca Smart Subscriptions, building full-stack solutions using microservices, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native technologies. Ensure quality, performance, security, and NFR benchmarks while mentoring engineering teams and driving adoption of best practices. Collaborate with global stakeholders across Product, Business, Architecture, and other engineering groups to lead initiatives improving automation, engineering efficiency, and product quality. Drive POCs and technology decisions aligned with business and platform needs. This role requires 10–15 years of experience in Java and microservices within a global, high-scale environment.
Required Qualifications
- 10–15 years of experience as a hands-on technologist
- strong Object-Oriented Design and clean coding practices in Java (SOLID principles)
- Strong expertise in microservices, event-driven architecture and scalable system design
- Experience with Spring Boot, cloud platforms and Agile (SAFe) delivery models
- Proven experience in building real-time, high-scale applications
- Strong problem-solving mindset with ability to design innovative, scalable solutions
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across global teams
- Ability to mentor teams and drive technical excellence
- Abide by Mastercard's security policies and practices
- Ensure confidentiality and integrity of information
- Report any suspected security breaches
- Complete all mandatory security trainings

- Frontend: Angular / React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
