Job Summary
Lead Software Engineer for Commodities Derisking at JPMorganChase (UK) focusing on Python development on the Athena platform. Develop next-gen applications for commodities trading desks globally, deliver secure high-quality production code, and perform design, development, testing, and operational stability work. Drive automation, continuous delivery, and end-to-end SDLC practices; lead architectural evaluations with external vendors and internal teams; promote Communities of Practice around new technologies; contribute to an inclusive team culture with a focus on diversity and respect.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in working with Front Office Trading Desks
- High proficiency in Python
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Advanced in one or more programming language(s)
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
- Practical cloud native experience
