Job Summary
Lead Software Engineer in the Equity Derivatives Technology group responsible for designing, developing, and delivering secure, scalable software in a client-facing, agile environment. You will work directly with internal and external clients, collaborating with Sales, Trading, and Operations to expand expertise in derivatives processing and securitized products. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality production code, reviewing and debugging others' code, identifying opportunities to automate remediation for operational stability, leading architecture evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams, and driving adoption of new technologies through communities of practice. Strong Java enterprise experience, cloud-native capabilities, automation and CI/CD proficiency, and deep understanding of the software development life cycle within the financial services industry are essential, as is the ability to work across cross-functional teams to deliver innovative technology products.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge and experience with Java enterprise-level applications
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Proficient in SDLC and agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
- Experience with cloud-native environments
- Knowledge of financial services IT systems and derivatives domain
- Ability to lead evaluations with external vendors and internal teams
- Experience delivering secure, scalable production code
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Ability to collaborate with Sales, Trading, Operations, and external clients
