Job Summary
Lead Software Engineer role within JPMorgan Chase's Corporate Sector Finance Technology team focused on designing and delivering scalable platforms for FP&A, leveraging cloud, data engineering, and AI/ML; responsibilities include architecture, leading engineers, delivering solutions with stakeholders, mentoring, driving data quality, observability, and security; experience with Java/Python/Scala, AWS, Spark, and data-driven finance workflows; preferred experience with Databricks and data visualization tools; Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Technology, Data Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Experience as a software engineer, with a track record of leading complex projects and engineering teams to successful delivery
- Experience in building large-scale platforms, with deep knowledge of data quality, observability, and entitlement management to ensure robust, secure, and reliable solutions
- Expertise in modern programming languages such as Java, Python, or Scala
- Experience with the AWS platform, including its core services, architecture best practices, and security features
- Experience with big data technologies, including Apache Spark, for large-scale data processing and analytics
- Expertise in building data-driven applications, ideally within finance, banking, or related domains, with an understanding of financial planning and analysis workflows
- Experience collaborating with other platform teams to design and build common, reusable frameworks that drive standardization and enable wider adoption across the organization
- Passion for solving complex problems and delivering impactful, scalable solutions that drive business value
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and engage with stakeholders across the organization
