Job Summary
Lead Software Engineer for Cloud Platform Engineering focusing on building secure, high-quality production code, composable infrastructure, and automated remediation to improve operational reliability. Responsibilities include running an operational, you-build-it-you-run-it culture, leading architectural design evaluations with external vendors and internal teams, fostering communities of practice, and designing, building, and operating Kubernetes-based platform services with automated self-service, CI/CD, and policy-as-code. The role emphasizes Kubernetes, IaC, platform security, and cross-cloud deployment across Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure, with a preference for Kubernetes operator patterns and GitOps workflows. The candidate should have formal software engineering training/certifications, hands-on system design and development experience, proficiency in Go/Java/Kotlin, and strong knowledge of agile methods, reliability, and security.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts (e.g., CKAD, Google Associate Cloud Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect)
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Advanced in one or more programming languages (Go, Java, or Kotlin)
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
- Practical cloud-native experience deploying Kubernetes applications on cloud providers (GCP, AWS, Azure)
- Experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and platform reliability
- Experience with infrastructure as code and related tooling (Terraform, Crossplane)
- Experience with GitOps workflows
- Familiarity with platform security and containerized workloads
