Job Summary
Lead design and delivery of modern data processing solutions across private cloud and Amazon Web Services (AWS), driving end-to-end platform modernization and architecture decisions for scalable, resilient systems. Build and enhance extract, transform, load (ETL) and event-driven pipelines to improve throughput, data quality, and observability while mentoring engineers on enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development practices. Partner with stakeholders to align on outcomes and establish consistent validation standards for secure coding, automated testing, and operational readiness. Apply knowledge of the software development life cycle toolchain, including containerization with Docker and Kubernetes, to accelerate delivery velocity and improve code quality.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts
- 5+ years applied experience
- Hands-on experience with system design
- Hands-on experience with application development
- Hands-on experience with testing
- Hands-on experience with operational stability in a large-scale environment
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python or Java)
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining production code
- Experience building data processing solutions
- Experience with extract, transform, load (ETL) development
- Experience with data pipeline lifecycle management (design, build, test, deploy, maintain)
- Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) services
- Hands-on experience with cloud delivery practices
- Experience with infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform)
- Experience with Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3)
- Experience with Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2)
- Experience with Amazon EMR
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
- Experience with orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery practices
- Strong understanding of the software development life cycle
- Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools
- Ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows
- Experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption within delivery practices
