Job Summary
Lead Commissioning Engineer at GE Power Conversion, based in Chennai, with global travel up to 100%. Responsibilities include site leadership for commissioning of MV/LV drives with MV switchgear across industries (Power Plants, Metals, Marine, Oil & Gas, Material Handling), on-site installation, preventive maintenance, calibration, and repair; documentation of commissioned results; emergency repairs; technical instruction to customers; providing leadership to skilled labor; applying Six Sigma tools for reliability and cost optimization; performing Root Cause Analysis; acting as single point of contact to customers and coordinating with GE stakeholders; supporting spare parts coordination and fleet performance analysis. Requires deep electrical engineering expertise, strong problem-solving and communication skills, ability to work independently, and willingness to travel worldwide. Relocation assistance provided.
Required Qualifications
- Masters/Bachelors/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or allied Engineering
Desired Qualifications
- Experience leading commissioning projects
- Strong background in Power Electronics and MV/LV drives
- Six Sigma tools experience
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work across international teams
- Willingness to travel 100% to client sites
