Job Summary
Lead shift tooling engineer roles involving in-vessel repair installation, problem resolution, and field execution. Develop repair concepts, engage in procedure development, and own critical tooling processes to ensure project success. Perform lead shift engineer duties for full-day or night-shift teams, providing tooling expertise and troubleshooting during field project delivery. Interpret business challenges to recommend best practices and guide stakeholders on operational and engineering decisions. Requires moderate autonomy with high operational judgment, 60% travel to customer sites, and a Bachelor's degree with four years of nuclear field services experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Science degree from an accredited university
- Minimum of four (4) years of nuclear field services industry with relevant tooling application/use
- Six (6) years relevant experience in a technical field/industry
- Five (5) years of experience in nuclear field services industry with relevant tooling application/use
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 60% domestically and internationally as dictated by business need to GE Vernova, Vendor and customer locations
- Ability to obtain unescorted access to Nuclear Plants including required access to U.S. export-controlled information
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to climb and descend 10 flights of stairs twice per day
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to pass respirator fit test and physical
- Ability to pass Fitness For Duty requirements
- Proficiency in computer skills, including strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), with the ability to create, analyze, and present data and documents effectively
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in the nuclear industry, with a solid understanding of nuclear project requirements including Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) vessel internal hardware knowledge / experience, design process, balanced with understanding of complexities of field delivery
- Proven track record in working on complex projects with a focus on reactor modifications and/or refuel floor work
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in complex situations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus among diverse stakeholders
