Job Summary
Lead shift tooling engineer roles supporting in-vessel repair installations and problem resolution, including developing repair concepts, owning critical tooling processes, and executing field project delivery. Perform lead shift engineer duties to manage full day or night shift teams, providing tooling expertise and troubleshooting to ensure high-quality project execution. Engage in proposal and contract phases to identify risks and interpret business challenges to recommend best practices for product and process improvement. Requires specialized nuclear field services knowledge, ability to travel up to 60% domestically and internationally, and unescorted access to nuclear plants.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Science degree from an accredited university
- Minimum of four (4) years of nuclear field services industry with relevant tooling application/use
- Six (6) years relevant experience in a technical field/industry
- 5 years of experience in nuclear field services industry with relevant tooling application/use
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 60% domestically and internationally as dictated by business need to GE Vernova, Vendor and customer locations
- Ability to obtain unescorted access to Nuclear Plants including required access to U.S. export-controlled information
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to climb and descend 10 flights of stairs twice per day
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to pass respirator fit test and physical
- Ability to pass Fitness For Duty requirements
- Proficiency in computer skills, including strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), with the ability to create, analyze, and present data and documents effectively
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in the nuclear industry, with a solid understanding of nuclear project requirements including Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) vessel internal hardware knowledge / experience, design process, balanced with understanding of complexities of field delivery
- Proven track record in working on complex projects with a focus on reactor modifications and/or refuel floor work
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in complex situations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus among diverse stakeholders
