Lead Senior Wind Hub Technician - SD2 (Wishek, ND)

Job Summary

Execute daily turbine operations, safety protocols, and warranty repairs at the wind site, including troubleshooting complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable pitch and speed turbines. Read schematics and technical manuals to perform diagnostic analysis, generate resolution plans, and document all work via computer-based reporting. Partner with site leadership to meet contractual obligations while mentoring peers and responding to remote operations center needs. Requires local travel within the hub, up to 100% travel time, rotating shifts, and occasional overnights. Valid driver's license and tower climbing ability up to 300 feet are essential.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to pass Technical Knowledge Assessment
  • 4+ years of wind trouble-shooting experience
  • 1+ year EHS, SQC, Lead role
  • 5+ years of wind trouble-shooting experience
  • Basic computer skills
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time
  • Ability to handle repetitive weight - 50 lbs
  • Ability to climb towers up to 300 feet daily
  • Ability to meet and maintain specified manufacturer weight limits not to exceed 300lbs including required gear
  • Ability and willingness to work in range of environments to include but not limited to industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work according to contract obligations
  • Ability and willingness to take initiative, and work without direct supervision
  • Flexibility to work rotating shift schedules
  • Ability and willingness to work on-call per site needs
  • Ability and willingness to work occasional overnights per hub needs

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a Technical, Electrical, or Electronics field from an accredited college or university
  • Technical Certification in Wind Energy or Electrical / Electronic field
  • Wind turbine experience
  • Electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic experience
  • Experience using hydraulic power tools
  • Experience with heavy equipment required for facility maintenance with a working knowledge of crane and rigging requirements
