Job Summary
Engage with clients to identify reporting needs through discovery meetings and advise on Power BI licensing options. Develop efficient star schema data models, build solutions by importing data from diverse sources, and create reports, dashboards, and data elements using DAX and source queries. Support clients in deploying Power BI solutions to the service, including setting up gateways, DirectQuery, data flows, and data refreshes. Work remotely on a 5pm to 1am shift. Candidates must possess over five years of experience with Microsoft BI tools, advanced DAX, and Databricks for optimizing data pipelines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or related fields, or equivalent professional experience
- Over 5 years of experience with data and business intelligence solutions using Microsoft tools (SSRS, Power BI, PowerPivot, PerformancePoint) or other BI platforms (Business Objects, MicroStrategy, Qlik, SAP)
- Proficiency in TSQL, data modeling, and reporting with Power BI or similar tools
- Proven experience designing comprehensive Power BI reports with interactive features, drilldowns, and nested parameters
- Expertise in creating dynamic measures with advanced DAX
- Knowledge of data mashups and transformations using Power Query/M
- Hands-on experience with Databricks for developing and streamlining data workflows
- Ability to select appropriate visualizations and design interactive report interfaces
- Skilled in gathering requirements and conducting focus groups to improve business processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; adept at working with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills, leveraging technology to address business challenges
- Capable of performing effectively in fast-paced environments
- Advanced SQL skills, including query tuning
- Experience in data quality assessment
- Deploying Power BI solutions on-premises via Power BI Report Server
- Using Power BI Embedded for embedding reports
- Implementing cloud-based Power BI solutions utilizing Microsoft Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, and Azure SQL Database
- Familiarity with SQL Server (including data warehouse architecture, SSIS, SSRS) and DirectQuery
- Understanding Power BI licensing options and advising clients on optimal licensing solutions
- Experience with Databricks for developing and optimizing data pipelines and workflows
- Solid grasp of both technical and business intelligence concepts
- Commitment to staying current with Power BI updates
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
