Job Summary
Verify chemical inventory levels, locations, and expiration dates by performing bench audits and full-cycle counts using barcode scanners. Receive, inspect, label, and store incoming chemical shipments according to compatibility guidelines and DOT regulations. Identify and resolve discrepancies in chemical handling, storage conditions, or inventory records. Use GDP for conjugate base pairing, titration techniques, chemical compatibility, and pH conductivity for buffer/media preparation. Perform glassware washing and sterilization to ensure lab cleanliness and compliance with safety standards. Work independently at customer sites in cold rooms or varied temperature environments, lifting up to 50 lbs and using forklifts. Requires 3+ years of lab experience, an associate degree, and proficiency with Microsoft 365.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate degree
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 3+ years of work experience in a lab setting
- Proven record of leading and mentoring teams, formally or informally
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Strong attention to detail
- Organizational skills
- Safety-first approach
- Ability to read and understand SDS documentation and DOT labeling requirements
- Ability to work independently and delegate tasks to others
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Able to lift 40 lbs without assistance
- Able to lift 30-40 lbs regularly
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Able to use equipment like pushcarts and forklifts
- Able to move up to 100 lbs
- Able to stand, walk, and perform manual material handling of chemical containers
- Able to work in varied temperature environments
- Able to work in areas with chemical-based allergens like penicillin and tetracycline
- Must successfully complete and satisfy Thermo Fisher's pre-employment screening (including background check and drug test)
- Must satisfy any customer-mandated screening, credentialing, or badging requirements
