Job Summary
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for electric capital infrastructure, interfacing with project management, engineering, and client stakeholders. Implement project controls tools and methodology using Primavera P6 to perform critical path analysis, manage schedule variances, and support contingency planning. Produce look-ahead reports, actuals, and time-phased cost forecasts while ensuring standardized documentation and supporting month-end closing and phase gate processes. Provide regular project updates to the team, identifying deviations and recommending corrective actions. Work remotely two days a week with the potential to travel for client meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency using Primavera P6 scheduling software
- Familiarity with the practical application of project controls
- 10+ years of project experience
- Post-secondary graduate
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- proven ability to interact and multitask with project team members, clients, and vendors of varying position levels
- Eager to learn new skills and develop knowledge to add make a valuable impact to project team operation
- Willing to engage with others to understand project team needs
- Committed to deliver high quality, accurate deliverables with attention to detail
- Working knowledge in MS Office tools
- advanced use of MS Excel and/or MS Access in creating detailed, interactive spreadsheets, workbooks, and databases
- travel to client office for project coordination meetings
Desired Qualifications
- Related engineering internship, co-op, or work experience, which includes project controls, project planning, project scheduling, and earned value performance, preferably within the power industry
- AACE CST
- PMI Equivalent
- Working towards AACE CCP
- Working towards AACE CEP
- Working towards AACE PSP
- Working towards AACE PRMP
- Working towards AACE EVP
- Working towards PMI Equivalent
- completed equivalent training
- successfully passed designated proficiency testing
