Job Summary
Lead sales associate duties include unloading trucks, stocking merchandise, rotating displays, and assisting customers with locating items. Operate cash registers, collect payments, make change, and maintain clean register countertops and store floors. In the absence of the Store Manager, authorize refunds and overrides, count registers, make bank deposits, and monitor cameras for unusual activities. Open and close the store under Area Manager direction while ensuring strict adherence to cash control and security procedures. Complete all required paperwork and documentation according to guidelines. This role supports the mission of serving others by delivering value to shoppers through everyday low prices in convenient neighborhood locations.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control
- Ability to perform IBM cash register functions
- Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices
- Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills
- Understanding of safety policies and practices
- Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) preferred
