Job Summary
Lead cashier and stocker duties in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager. Unload trucks, unpack cartons, stock merchandise, rotate shelves, and build displays. Operate cash registers, bag items, collect payments, and handle bank deposits. Authorize refunds, count registers, monitor cameras, and supply change. Clean store floors, restrooms, and sidewalks; maintain register countertops and implement plan-o-grams. Greet customers, locate merchandise, and ensure a safe, secure environment. Open and close the store under Area Manager direction. Requires high school diploma, six months supervisory experience, and ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Located in Princeton, IN.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control
- Ability to perform IBM cash register functions
- Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices
- Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills
- Understanding of safety policies and practices
- Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance
- Ability to push and/or pull rolltainers
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Ability to lift up to 55 pounds occasionally
- Ability to climb up to heights of six feet occasionally
- Ability to drive or provide own transportation to make bank deposits, attend management meetings and travel to other Dollar General stores
Desired Qualifications
