Job Summary
Lead Sales Associate role at Dollar General in Poplarville, MS. Responsible for acting in a lead capacity in the absence of Store Manager, assisting with plan-o-gram setup, stocking, checkout operations, customer service, and maintaining store cleanliness and safety. Key duties include unloading trucks, stocking and rotating merchandise, implementing plan-o-grams, assisting customers, operating the cash register, processing payments, managing refunds/overrides, supervising cash handling, and supporting store security and loss-prevention practices. Requires strong math and cash-handling skills, familiarity with cash registers, merchandising guidance, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment. Education favored: high school diploma or equivalent; supervisory experience (6 months) preferred. Relocation assistance not available. Part-time position with potential for leadership responsibilities in the absence of store management.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) preferred
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures and IBM cash register functions
- Effective interpersonal and written/oral communication skills
- Ability to read and follow plan-o-grams and merchandise presentation guidance
- Frequent standing and walking; ability to lift up to 40 pounds (up to 55 pounds occasionally)
