Job Summary
Lead sales associate duties include unloading trucks, stocking merchandise, rotating displays, and assisting customers with product location. Operate cash registers, collect payments, and manage register countertops while maintaining strict cash control and key accountability. In the absence of the Store Manager, authorize refunds, count registers, make bank deposits, and monitor cameras for unusual activities. Open and close the store under Area Manager direction, clean the front end and restrooms, and maintain a safe, organized environment. Requires high school diploma, six months of supervisory experience, and ability to perform mathematical calculations. Located in Avilla, IN, this part-time role offers opportunities to serve others at Dollar General.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control
- Ability to perform IBM cash register functions
- Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices
- Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills
- Understanding of safety policies and practices
- Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance
- 21 and older
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) preferred
