Job Summary
Greet and assist customers while operating the cash register to process transactions, bag merchandise, and make change. Stock and rotate merchandise on shelves, build displays, and maintain a clean store by dusting, mopping, and cleaning restrooms. Open and close the store, receive and unpack merchandise, and perform additional duties typically handled by the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager. This role requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 40 pounds in a fast-paced environment, with occasional driving to the bank for deposits. You will act in a lead capacity during the absence of store leadership to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills
- Understanding of safety policies and practices
- Ability to read and follow planogram and merchandise presentation guides
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
- Ability to perform cash register functions
- Knowledge of cash, facility, and safety control policies and practices
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control
- Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months of supervisory experience
