Job Summary
Lead Sales Associate at Dollar General is responsible for maintaining a clean, customer-focused store, assisting customers with locating and purchasing merchandise, operating the cash register, stocking and rotating merchandise, cleaning, and supporting store profitability. Duties include executing planograms, opening/closing the store under supervision, and performing duties of a Sales Associate while acting in a lead capacity in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager. Required skills include strong interpersonal and communication abilities, knowledge of cash handling and safety practices, ability to perform basic math, and merchandising/planogram adherence. The role requires high school diploma or equivalent and may involve supervisory experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training)
- Ability to read and follow planograms
- Ability to perform cash register functions
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures
- Frequent walking/standing; ability to lift up to 40 pounds; occasional up to 55 pounds
