Job Summary
Lead cashier and stocker duties in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager. Unload trucks, unpack cartons, and stock merchandise while rotating and facing items on shelves. Operate cash registers, process transactions, manage drawer pulls, and handle bank deposits. Authorize refunds and overrides, maintain key control, and monitor cameras for unusual activities. Assist customers by locating merchandise, greet shoppers, and clean store floors, restrooms, and front-end displays. Implement plan-o-grams and maintain register countertops. Open and close the store under Area Manager direction. Complete required paperwork and documentation according to guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control
- Ability to perform IBM cash register functions
- Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices
- Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills
- Understanding of safety policies and practices
- Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training)
