Job Summary
Lead Sales Associate at Dollar General. Responsibilities include providing superior customer service, operating a cash register, stocking and rotating merchandise, stocking displays, cleaning the store, assisting in planograms, and opening/closing the store under direction of the Store Manager. Serves as a lead in the absence of management; performs duties typically handled by Store Manager/Assistant Manager as needed. Required is a high school diploma or equivalent and supervisory experience; strong interpersonal and communication skills; knowledge of cash handling and safety policies; ability to perform basic math and operate the checkout system; ability to lift up to 40 pounds and occasional travel to other stores may be required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) preferred
- Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills
- Ability to read and follow planogram and merchandise presentation guides
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
- Ability to perform cash register functions
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control
- Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money
