Job Summary
Lead Sales Associate at Dollar General responsible for maintaining a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. Primary duties include assisting customers, operating a cash register, stocking and rotating merchandise, stocking displays, executing planograms, opening/closing under direction of Store Manager, and performing in the absence of the Store Manager. Requires strong interpersonal skills, basic math and cash-handling ability, merchandising knowledge, and the ability to drive banking deposits as needed. Occasional lifting and physical tasks are required in a fast-paced retail environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training)
- Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills
- Ability to read and follow planogram and merchandise presentation guides
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
- Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control
- Knowledge of cash, facility, and safety control policies and practices
