Job Summary
Lead the design, development, and enhancement of administration systems for mission-critical insurance applications while providing technical leadership, mentoring developers, and conducting code reviews. Oversee complex programming, system analysis, and solution architecture, ensuring proper documentation of all changes and compliance with established procedures. Act as a primary technical liaison for assigned clients, collaborating with stakeholders to define and implement scalable solutions. Troubleshoot high-priority production issues and drive best practices across the development lifecycle. Report directly to the Executive Vice President. This role requires 8–10 years of IBM iSeries experience and is based in Lake Mary, FL, with a schedule of Monday through Friday.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 8–10 years' experience as an IBM iSeries developer, including leadership responsibilities
- Expert-level experience in RPGILE and RPG Free
- Strong experience with debugging interactive and batch jobs
- Proficiency in DDS, CL, and Spooled Files
- Demonstrated experience leading technical projects and mentoring developers
- Proven ability to analyze complex requirements, perform impact analysis, and design scalable solutions
Desired Qualifications
- WebSphere Development Studio experience
- Experience in the insurance or financial services sector
- Experience authoring technical documentation and architectural designs
- Experience with EDI, data conversions, and system integrations
- Experience with server-to-server FTP automation
- Experience with embedded SQL
- Familiarity with modernizing legacy IBM i environments and integrating with newer technologies
- Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and work with minimal supervision
