Lead Roads Engineer

Lead Roads Engineer responsible for delivering multidisciplinary transport/civil infrastructure projects across rural and urban corridors in New Zealand. Role spans feasibility and investment case development, concept design for route protection and consenting, detailed design for costing, procurement and construction, and ongoing construction support. Provides technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and designers, collaborates with transport planning, drainage, utilities, structures, lighting, pavements, rail, geotechnical, environmental planning, traffic, and construction teams to deliver high-quality design packages, drawings, specifications, and technical reports in line with client expectations and local authority standards. Leads Safety in Design, constructability, and project risk discussions, manages scope, programme, financials, deliverables, and risk documentation, and maintains strong client relationships with transport agencies and local authorities. Champions practical engineering solutions and continuous improvement of the roads practice, including standardisation, technical eminence, and digital initiatives.
