Job Summary
Perform a variety of patient care activities and work directly with providers to maintain the highest standard of practice in accordance with state licensure regulations. Independently educate patients and staff while assuming responsibility for professional growth and development. Utilize diagnostic equipment, electronic systems for ordering, and medical records to ensure quality control standards are met during daily operations. Maintain calm and effective reactions during emergency situations while communicating clearly with patients, physicians, staff, and the public. Work Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm as part of Saint Francis Healthcare System's pediatric team, contributing to a Catholic healing ministry rooted in compassion and service for over 150 years.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing program
- Current license as a Registered Nurse by the State of Missouri
- Current CPR certification
- Skill in taking vital signs
- Skill in taking history
- Attention to detail
- Skill in patient education and instruction
- Skill in multi-tasking
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, physicians, staff and the public
- Ability to maintain quality control standard
- Ability to maintain calm and effective reactions during emergency situations
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Ability to understand and respond to detailed oral and written instructions
- Ability to learn and efficiently utilize diagnostic equipment
- Ability to efficiently utilize electronic systems for ordering
