Job Summary
Lead inspection activities for RMA, rework, repair, and manufacturing operations by performing detailed visual inspections of complex RF and microelectronic assemblies. Conduct pre-cap, final, MMIC, and wire bond inspections while accurately documenting results and maintaining quality records. Perform mechanical measurements and dimensional verification using precision equipment, interpret engineering drawings, and support root cause investigations for quality issues. Mentor team members, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with IPC, MIL-STD, and customer standards. This role requires a U.S. citizen with 5+ years in high-reliability microelectronics environments and a security clearance.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in microelectronics, RF electronics, aerospace, defense, semiconductor, or related high-reliability manufacturing environments
- Demonstrated experience performing optical microscopy inspections
- Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, source control drawings, process documentation, and specifications
- Experience using precision inspection equipment and measurement tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of IPC-A-610, Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies
- Working knowledge of IPC-A-600, Acceptability of Printed Boards
- Working knowledge of MIL-STD-883 Method 2009, Package Inspection
- Working knowledge of MIL-STD-883 Method 2010, Low and High Power Visual Inspection
- Working knowledge of MIL-STD-883 Method 2011 and 2023, Wire Bond Testing
- Working knowledge of MIL-STD-883 Method 2017, Internal Visual Inspection
- Working knowledge of MIL-STD-883 Method 2019, Die Shear Testing
- Security Clearance
Desired Qualifications
- Previous lead, trainer, or mentor experience within a quality or inspection organization
- Experience with SAP ERP systems
- Experience using EMPOWER document control systems
- Familiarity with RMA processing, repair verification, and failure analysis support
- IPC certification or military-standard inspection certification
