Job Summary
Validate, maintain, and implement technology solutions for the accounting department's revenue recognition systems to meet business needs. Serve as the primary subject matter expert for GCI Consumer revenue, ensuring ASC 606 compliance through post-go-live implementation and testing against design requirements. Act as the liaison between Accounting and Applications Technology to test Netcracker billing system updates and manage incidents with the General Ledger team. Collaborate with Technical Accounting, compliance, and external auditors to prepare and maintain controls within a SOX-compliant environment. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Oracle EBS, Netcracker, and Aptitude RevStream while supporting complex projects under varying priorities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or closely related field
- Minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible accounting experience
- Knowledge and expertise of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) including Revenue Recognition requirements within ASC 606
- Experience with a SOX-compliant environment or auditor of publicly traded entities
- Experience with Oracle or related ERP system
- Proficient computer skills and MS Office knowledge (e.g., Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)
- Ability to accurately communicate information and ideas to others effectively
- Physical agility and effort sufficient to perform job duties safely and effectively
- Ability to make valid judgments and decisions
- Available to work additional time on weekends, holidays, before or after normal work hours when necessary
- Must work well in a team environment and be able to work with a diverse group of people and customers
- Ability to work shifts as assigned
- Ability to work in standard office/home office setting
- Ability to operate standard office equipment
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Current Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Public accounting experience (Big 4 or national/regional firm)
- Experience supporting or implementing revenue data systems or revenue recognition tools
- Familiarity with data analytics or business intelligence tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms
- Telecommunications or other highly transactional industry experience
- Other relevant accounting, systems, or industry‐specific certifications
